Edibles

There are additional risks associated with consuming edibles because the effects of ingesting cannabis can be more intense and last longer than smoking cannabis. The effects of edibles can take up to 4 hours to be felt and can last up to 12 hours or longer. To reduce the risks associated with edibles:

  • Take it slow. Start with no more than 2.5mg of THC and wait at least four hours to feel the effects before taking more.
  • Read the label. The amount of THC and recommended serving size can be different for each product. Read all labels for information on proper use and storage.
  • Avoid mixing cannabis with tobacco, alcohol, prescription, and other drugs.
