Point-in-Time counts, or homeless counts, offer a snapshot of how many people are experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness within a 24-hour period in a district. These counts are known to be an under representation of the true number of people experiencing homelessness at the given time.

Formal Housing Plans
Addressing homelessness requires a broad network of organizations, volunteers, and community members. In the Health Unit region, the District Social Services Administration Boards develop and oversee formal plans to address and prevent homelessness.
