Ringworms

Ringworm is the name for a group of skin infections caused by fungus that live on the dead tissues of the skin, hair, and nails. The term “ringworm” doesn’t mean the infection is caused by worms.

Individual cases are not reportable to the Health Unit.

Exclude until treatment has started. If you think you or your child has ringworms, see your healthcare provider.

Note: Exclusion guidelines may differ for healthcare workers. Follow the direction of your healthcare provider or occupational health at your workplace.
