Cooking and Food Skills

Community kitchens are a great way to bring groups together to develop skills, prepare food, reduce social isolation, and have fun.

The Health Unit provides training to organizations and volunteers interested in starting or strengthening cooking and food skills programming for clients.

To learn how your organization can lead cooking and food skills programming, please call 1-800-563-2808 ext 5210 or add your information to our wait list for our next upcoming training.

The Health Unit’s North Bay office has a Teaching Kitchen that can be booked by community organizations and groups to host community kitchen programming.

Community Kitchen Modules

Created by Public Health Dietitians, these modules can be used to guide your community kitchen programs. The recipe books can be given to clients or used at home.
