The Health Unit prevents and manages the spread of disease in many ways – we investigate outbreaks, monitor vector-borne diseases (like Lyme disease and West Nile virus), educate the public on infectious disease, and conducts infectious disease surveillance and reporting. We also work closely with health care providers, hospitals, long-term care homes, schools, and many other service providers in our community.
