Vaccinations have the following health benefits:

  • Prevent illness and death;

  • Guards against missed work or travel;
  • Protects people and communities;
  • Improves quality of life;
  • Reduces health care costs.

Vaccinations are a safe way to keep your child healthy and free from diseases. Vaccination information for parents is available to help you make the most important decision in your child's health. The Publicly Funded Immunization Schedule gives you information on what your child needs and when they need it.

If you plan to bring a child other than your own to receive their vaccines at the Health Unit, proof of legal guardianship/permission will be requested by the immunizing public health nurse. Please remember to bring this documentation with you to every appointment.
