• provides free medications that health care providers can keep on hand for STI treatment 

• improves timely access to STI treatment 

• reduces barriers to care (e.g., cost, transportation, and time needed for appointments) 

• supports prevention of STI transmission 

• helps lower the risk of complications 

• Physicians  

• Nurse practitioners  

• Walk-in clinics  

• Community health centres 

• Hospitals  

• Correctional facilities 

• Empiric treatment of individuals with suspected chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and/or lymphogranuloma venereum infections  

• Treatment of individuals with laboratory confirmed chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and/or lymphogranuloma venereum infections  

• Treatment of sexual contacts of confirmed cases  

• Azithromycin  

• Doxycycline   

• Ceftriaxone (with 1% lidocaine)  

• Penicillin G Benzathine

• Please return all expired STI medication to us at the Health Unit. 

• Report suspected or confirmed Diseases of Public Health Significance to the Medical Officer of Health.
