Public Service Announcement: Phone Scam Alert

NORTH BAY, ON - The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) is warning the public about a scam we became aware of this morning. A concerned member of the public called the Health Unit to inquire about a call they received to participate in a phone survey from the Health Unit. The caller, pretending to be a Health Unit employee, asked questions about their COVID-19 status, pets and the number of people in the home.

The Health Unit is currently not conducting a survey specific to COVID-19....

Public Service Announcement: Flu Shot Appointments Available in Mid-November

NORTH BAY, ON - Flu season is not yet underway and the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) has received above average requests for the flu shot. As a result the Health Unit is now booking appointments into mid-November and will not be accepting further appointment bookings until the first week of November. Information on community flu shot clinics will be made public in the upcoming weeks.

Public Service Announcement: The Health Unit Confirms Second Case of COVID-19 in a School in the Nipissing District

NORTH BAY, ON - The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) has confirmed a second individual in the Nipissing District has tested positive for COVID-19 at Chippewa Secondary School. The Health Unit has not declared an outbreak, as the cases do not have an epidemiological link, meaning they are not a part of the same class or cohort and transmission took place outside the school.
