NORTH BAY, ON - Flu season is around the corner. The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) is recommending that everyone get their flu shot. In the 2019-2020 flu season, the district had 124 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza (flu). NIPISSING TOWNSHIP, ON– The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) would like to advise the public that a harmful algae bloom (cyanobacteria), also known as blue-green algae, has been found in the south shore area of Lake Nipissing. Species of the algae capable of producing toxins were confirmed by the laboratory of the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
