News Release: Health Unit Declares Community Outbreak in Connection with Nipissing University

NORTH BAY, ON - The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) has declared a community COVID-19 outbreak after six (6) members of the Nipissing University athletic community have tested positive for COVID-19. While the individuals who tested positive do not live on Nipissing University’s campus they have had interactions at the R.J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre gym and at social gatherings in the community. Other University buildings and properties are not impacted.

NORTH BAY, ON - The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) has confirmed a member of the Nipissing University community has tested positive for COVID-19. Close contact tracing is underway and individuals who are deemed at high risk will be contacted by the Health Unit, individuals who are not contacted by the Health Unit are not considered at high risk. NORTH BAY, ON – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) is hosting a community flu clinic with COVID-19 precautions on November 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the North Bay Elks Lodge, 325 Elks Ln.

Individuals are encouraged to book an appointment by calling 1-800-563-2808 ext. 5377. Individuals are reminded to wear their face covering.

If you are unable to attend the clinic, flu shots are available at your local pharmacy or by your health care provider.

WEST NIPISSING,ON – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) is hosting a community flu clinic with COVID-19 precautions on November 18 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sturgeon Falls Legion, 201 River St.
