NORTH BAY, ON – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) is required to track vaccinations for students under the Immunization of School Pupils Act. The Health Unit is pleased to announce that vaccine coverage rates for children who were attending a publicly funded school in our district during the 2018/2019 school year were above the provincial average. MUNICIPALITY OF EAST FERRIS AND TOWNSHIP OF BONFIELD – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) would like to advise the public that a harmful algae bloom (cyanobacteria), also known as blue-green algae, has been found in Lake Nosbonsing. Species of the algae capable of producing toxins were confirmed by the laboratory of the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks. The toxins in harmful algae can irritate the skin and, if swallowed, cause diarrhea and vomiting.

KEARNEY, ON – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) would like to advise the public that a harmful algae bloom (cyanobacteria), also known as blue-green algae, has been found in Sand Lake. Species of the algae capable of producing toxins were confirmed by the laboratory of the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
