Healthy Schools Program
A healthy school promotes physical, mental, social, and emotional wellbeing for the whole school community. It’s a healthy environment to learn, work, and play. Everyone within the school community has a part to play in achieving the healthiest school possible.
We offer:
- Support for healthy school policy development
- Resources and information to support school health and classroom learning by topic
- Lending library resources that can be borrowed from the Health Unit and apps to support classroom learning.
- Information on head lice (EN / FR)
- Information on reporting absenteeism (EN / FR)
- Information on reportable and non-reportable diseases and exclusion guidelines (EN / FR)
- Other public health services within your school, including dental screenings, immunization clinics, sexual health clinics, food safety certification training and inspections, and enforcement of smoking and vaping laws.
- Support for grant applications
