Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities

The Health Unit has policies and processes to meet the Accessibility Standards for:

  •  Customer Service, Ontario Regulation 429/07
  •  Integrated Accessibility Standards, Ontario Regulation 191/11(under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005)

We will provide all available information in accessible formats, or provide communication supports when requested. If you would like to access the Health Unit’s policies, contact the Executive Director of Corporate Services at 705-474-1400 or 1-800-563-2808.

Accessibility Plan

Our Accessibility Plan outlines our commitment to meet the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will identify and remove barriers to accessibility. We believe in equal opportunity, providing service to all, and are committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.

Our Multi-Year Work Plan sets out the steps in the upcoming years so we can examine and remove potential barriers, both visible and invisible, to allow better access for all. The plan is officially updated yearly since it's our goal to identify and remove barriers in a fluid and ongoing manner.
