News Release: Health Unit Declares COVID-19 Outbreak at Faith Chapel

NORTH BAY, ON - The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) has declared a respiratory outbreak at the Faith Chapel Christian Center in North Bay - the causative agent is COVID-19. There are five individuals associated with the outbreak who have tested positive for COVID-19.  These individuals are complying with self-isolation requirements and individuals identified as high-risk close contacts are being contacted.

NIPISSING ET PARRY SOUND (ONTARIO) – Le Bureau de santé du district de North Bay-Parry Sound (Bureau de santé) encourage les jeunes âgés de 12 à 17 ans à prendre un rendez-vous pour se faire vacciner contre la COVID-19 dès que possible pour qu’ils puissent avoir reçu les deux doses du vaccin avant la rentrée scolaire en septembre. NIPISSING & PARRY SOUND, ON – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) encourages youth aged 12 to 17 to book their COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible to be fully vaccinated before the start of school in September. Youth should get their first dose of the vaccine by early July in order to be able to receive their second dose in mid-August. This ensures they can build immunity before their return to school, as it takes two weeks for a dose of the vaccine to take full effect.

NIPISSING & PARRY SOUND – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) has opened a number of COVID-19 vaccine appointments at clinics in North Bay, Parry Sound, Sundridge and West Nipissing between June 29 and July 3.

Book your first or second dose online at Ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by calling the provincial call centre at 1-833-943-3900. It is not guaranteed that your second dose will be the same brand as your first; it is safe to mix and match mRNA vaccine brands.
