Learning and development are foundational to a child’s mental health and overall well-being. Positive learning experiences build confidence, resilience, and social-emotional skills, while supportive environments help children manage stress and form healthy relationships.
This dashboard measures learning and development across five key indicators: Early Childhood Development (using the Early Development Instrument, EDI), Student Achievement (based on EQAO assessments), Educational Engagement and Attainment, and Mother Tongue. Together, these indicators provide a comprehensive view of how children are growing cognitively, socially, and emotionally, laying the groundwork for lifelong health and success.
This dashboard is part of a broader Community Well-Being Dashboard framework. For your interest, please see the Social Determinants of Health and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Resiliency Dashboards, which provide additional insights into factors influencing health and development across the community.
