Youth Apps and Web Support

Quash

Quash is a judgement-free app for teens to help you quit smoking or vaping —the way you want! Set goals, track cravings, earn badges and access tools and tips. Available on the App Store or Google Play

Stop Vaping Challenge

This app challenges you to stop vaping for as long as you can with a timer that tracks seconds, minutes, and hours. Invite friends to join the challenge through the app, track mood and cravings, record photo and video memories, and find local resources on quitting vaping. Available on the App Store and Google Play.

Crush the Crave – Vape Edition

Crush the Crave provides supportive messages, virtual awards and help for dealing with cravings. Track the number of days vape-free, amount of money saved, and triggers. Available on the App Store and Google Play.

Nod from 2050

A website that encourages you to reflect on your long-term goals around vaping nicotine. Send a virtual postcard to celebrate the younger you who decided to quit vaping.

Not an Experiment – Plan Your Quit!

Having a personalized quit plan can help you on your way to becoming vape-free. This website guides you through creating your plan, which you can download or email to yourself.

Sacred Tobacco Thoughts from Youth

Youths share their perspectives on tobacco as a sacred medicine, why they choose not to smoke commercial tobacco or are looking to quit, and what it means to live mino-bimaadiziwin. This video is part of the Keep the Promise initiative of the North East Tobacco Control Area Network.

SmokersHelpline.ca is a free and confidential service offering support and information about quitting smoking, vaping and tobacco use. Visit SmokersHelpline.ca to access:

Free Nicotine Replacement Therapy

STOP on the Net

Interested in free nicotine replacement products to help you quit smoking? If you are 18 years or older and live in Ontario, you may be eligible to receive eight weeks of nicotine patches and gum/lozenge mailed directly to your door! To learn more about STOP on the Net and to get started, visit www.stoponthenet.com.

Ottawa Model

Receive six weeks worth of Nicotine Replacement Therapy in the mail and support from a Nicotine Addiction Treatment Specialist to help you quit smoking. Call 1-888-645-5405 to enroll in this free program.

Health Care Provider

Contact your Health Care Provider to see if they offer free quit smoking support and/or nicotine replacement therapy (patches, gum, lozenges or inhaler).

Phone and Chat Support

Trained staff can support you with your quit plan and provide you with tips and strategies to make your quit successful. You can call 811 or chat online at any time to get started.

Talk Tobacco

Talk Tobacco is a free, confidential program offering culturally appropriate support and information about quitting smoking, vaping and commercial tobacco use to First Nations, Inuit, Métis and urban Indigenous communities. Phone services are available in English, French, and 16 Indigenous languages. Call 1-833-998-8255, visit www.talktobacco.ca, or text CHANGE to 123456.

Lung Health Line

Certified respiratory educators offer free information and guidance on a variety of lung health concerns, including smoking cessation counselling and information on quitting vaping. Call: 1-888-344-5864.

Information for Service Providers

Quash Facilitated Program

Adults who work with youth ages 14-19 can receive online training to become a Quash facilitator and help youth quit vaping or smoking. The facilitated version of the Quash program is delivered to youth online or in-person over seven sessions.

Lower-Risk Nicotine Use Guidelines
