NEWS RELEASE

Peel, Stick, Create! Planet Youth Nipissing Launches Sticker Design Contest

NORTH BAY, ON - Planet Youth Nipissing wants to know what matters to youth in the Nipissing District– in the form of a sticker! Using the youth’s choice of medium (such as drawing, painting, or digital), folks ages 11 to 19 are encouraged to submit a 2-inch, circular sticker design.

Planet Youth Nipissing, in partnership with Digital Creator, is inviting all youth and their families to the contest launch on Thursday, Jan 22, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Near North Makerspace, located at 108 Main St. E., in North Bay. Pizza will be provided.

Eligible youth can explore the makerspace, get started on their sticker design, learn more about the contest, and, if they feel ready, submit their design at the launch event. Submissions are accepted online at planetyouthnipissing.ca/sticker from now until Sunday, Feb 22, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

There are two age submission categories (ages 11 to 14 and ages 15 to 19), with five winners being chosen by youth from each category. Winners will receive $50, printed copies of their sticker and community-wide distribution of their design. Planet Youth Nipissing is asking those who are interested to visit their website for a complete list of entry requirements and the terms and conditions, which will also be available at the launch.

The contest aims to amplify youth voices and perspectives within our community, while creating content that will be promoted by Planet Youth Nipissing.

Planet Youth Nipissing is a community-driven movement focused on improving the health and well-being of young people and preventing early substance use, including alcohol, tobacco, and drugs. Led by the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, this work follows the Icelandic Prevention Model, a proven approach that has successfully reduced youth substance use and strengthened protective factors in communities. By bringing together parents, educators, youth, and organizations, Planet Youth Nipissing is building the conditions for the next generation to grow up healthy and drug-free.

The Near North Makerspace is a welcoming creative hub for artists and makers to build, create, and connect. A place to tinker, experiment, and play with new materials and ideas, it fosters collaboration through an inclusive culture of making. Whether people arrive with curiosity or experience, the Makerspace offers space to share skills, spark ideas, and build a sense of belonging across generations and communities.
