NEWS RELEASE

PARRY SOUND, ON - The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) is excited to announce its move to 90 Bowes Street, above the Shoppers Drug Mart, effective Wednesday Oct. 4. This move comes as part of the Health Unit's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the community and enhancing the quality of services provided.

The Health Unit will be closed to the public as of Thursday, Sept. 28, and will reopen to the public on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at the new 90 Bowes Street location. The Health Unit assures the community that all necessary measures will be taken to minimize any disruptions and ensure a smooth transition. The Health Unit will not be accepting water testing samples as of Wednesday, Sept. 27 at its current location and will start accepting samples at 90 Bowes on October 10.

The decision to relocate to Bowes Street above Shoppers Drug Mart stems from a dedicated effort to improve the overall public health experience for residents in the Parry Sound district. The new location was thoughtfully chosen for its convenience and improved amenities, enabling the Health Unit to better serve the community.

One of the key advantages of the new location will be the Health Unit's future ability to expand its services to accommodate dental services for eligible individuals. Once running, this will be a valuable addition to the array of healthcare offerings, health promotion activities, and upstream health services provided by the Health Unit.

"The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is committed to the ongoing delivery of exceptional public health services and support in Parry Sound," stated Dr. Carol Zimbalatti, Medical Officer of Health at the Health Unit. "The relocation to 90 Bowes Street marks a significant step forward in achieving this goal. The new location allows us the space to expand our dental services and provides a more comfortable and contemporary environment for our valued clients."

The Health Unit remains dedicated to promoting and protecting the health and well-being of all residents within its district. The relocation to 90 Bowes Street represents a significant stride toward realizing our mission to foster healthy living within our communities by preventing illness, promoting healthy choices and providing trusted support and information.
