Needle Exchange

Those who choose to use drugs with needles are at risk of transmitting HIV, Hepatitis and other blood borne infections. Needle exchange services have been proven to reduce the spread of infection without increasing intravenous drug use.

The Health Unit is part of the Northern Points Exchange service, through which we provide:

  • Needles and other harm reduction items, including sharps containers
  • Needle disposal
  • Inhalation and Crystal Meth kits
  • Naloxone kits
  • Condoms
  • Health information
  • Referrals

All of the services are free and confidential.
