Community Groups & School Programs


Come cook at our place! The Health Unit’s North Bay office has a Teaching Kitchen that can be booked by community organizations and groups. To learn how your organization can lead cooking and food skills programs, please call 1-800-563-2808 ext. 5532. 

Adventures in Cooking is a program for kids aged 8-12. The Health Unit trains community groups to lead the program. The Health Unit also trains community partners to lead community kitchens. Contact us at 1-800-563-2808 ext. 5532 for more information. 

The Northern Fruit and Vegetable Program (NFVP) provides two free servings of fruit and vegetables each week to students (JK to grade 8) from January to June. The main goal of the program is to increase the likeability of vegetables and fruit among children. Learn more about the NFVP. 

Community Living offers a student nutrition program to ensure all children attending school are well-nourished and ready to learn. 

Teachers! Find in-classroom teaching resources and tools about healthy eating 

Community Kitchen Modules are resources that you can use in the community kitchen or at home. Community kitchens help develop skills to prepare healthy and nutritious meals and to become better in budgeting and shopping.
