Communicable Disease

  • The Communicable Disease Control Report is an annual release of information on the patterns and trends of the infectious diseases in the North Bay Parry Sound District. Diseases highlighted in the report have been chosen because they were noted as being common in our district, or because there are notably more or less cases compared with the province of Ontario.

Influenza

  • The Influenza Summaries are reports on the influenza (flu) season in the NBPSDHU region, generally occurring between September and August of the previous year. They show the number of confirmed cases of influenza and explain both when they happened and who was affected. These reports also explain when and where respiratory outbreaks took place and describes when and where the influenza vaccine was given and to whom.

Influenza Season Weekly Updates provide weekly reports of influenza activity in the NBPSDHU area.

2016/17 Influenza Summary (February 2018)

  • School children are often the first to be affected by the arrival of influenza and they are responsible for much of the early transmission within the community. This chart illustrates areas within our district where a school has reported experiencing an absenteeism rate of greater than or equal to 10% with influenza-like illness, respiratory or enteric illness. Once the absenteeism rate is less than 10% data is removed from the chart.
